Special Educational Needs and Disabilities area
Special Education Needs and Disabilities
As our school Inclusion Policy explains, our aim is to raise the aspirations, expectations and progress leading to achievement for all pupils with SEN or a disability. This is the responsibility of every member of our school staff but we have a passionate school inclusion team, consisting of Mrs Heidi Elsmore, Mrs Louise Salt, Mrs Sue Salt, a team of SEND Teaching Assistants who specifically support those children with SEND in the classroom, Mrs Hammond who supports children with Emotional Regulation using the Zones of Regulation and Mrs Shelley Cartwright who supports children with their speech and language. Mrs Sue Salt, Mrs Watts and Mrs Elsmore also offer emotional support for children who may be experiencing some difficulties.
We all work very closely with families and offer support and advice.
If you would like further information or to access some support, please contact Mrs Elsmore (SEND) or Mrs Sue Salt (emotional support HOPE mentor) via the school office.
Please see our interactive ‘School Information Report’ for answers to the frequently asked questions around support and accessibility for those with special educational needs or disabilities.
