William Shrewsbury Primary School

Online Safety

Each term sees a new unit of work which incorporates Online Safety, taught from Reception to Year 6, covering current issues. Online Safety is taught through our PSHE curriculum, assemblies, drama groups and during Computing sessions. An Online Safety committee, made up of Digital Leaders, meet and plan activities such as Safer Internet Day, assemblies and an annual theatre company perform to raise awareness. We have a network monitoring system which files a report every week with inappropriate words and phrases flagged to enable us to quickly deal with any issues.

Online Safety isn’t just part of school life, it’s also relevant at home and we would encourage you to have an open dialogue with your children about rules for computer use, Internet access and parental controls on all devices.

Please keep a look out for parent Online Safety information through WakeUpWednesday and the Knowsley Academy newsletters.

We hope you find the resources available on this page useful.
